4 Visegrad towns have succeeded in a joint project titled „Let’s mix the Quartet of Built and Cultural Heritage, Gastronomy and Handicraft”. The project was granted by the International Visegrad Fund. As its name shows this project is one with touristic and cultural topics and it aims to enhance the promotion of regional cultural and natural heritage. The participants will also be able to find new ways and solutions to promote and improve their services, especially in the four focus areas. Further purpose is to strengthen the connection between the four geographic regions, improve the dialogue between participants and facilitate the development of further joint projects.

The four partner organizations are two municipalities: Szarvas from Hungary as the lead partner, and Poprad from Slovakia, and two non-profit organisations, the Bieszczadzka Foundation from Ustrzyki Dolne, Poland and the Rozmberk Society from Trebon, the Czech Republic. Both of the two organizations are especially engaged in regional development and cultural heritage preservation.

The first event as Kick-off meeting takes place on 5-7th June in the Czech Republic organized by the Rozmberk Society as the host. The meeting aims for the partners to know of each other and the host gets the possibility to represent its organisation and operation through workshops and show the touristic attractions, activities, products and services of the region through study visits. Besides, the lead partner will show the project, summarizes the tasks and evaluating the expectations, opinions in the end.

One of the aims is also that this little project end in fruitful and long lasting relationships between the four Visegrad partner organizations by the project end 30/04/2020 and thereafter.

The project is co-financed by the Governments of Czechia, Hungary,

Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from International

Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for

sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
